Is this orange wine ORANGE?

Thanks a lot for enlightening me on this phenomenon

There have been massive premox problems reported in Chidaine’s 2014s. Although, I’d differentiate that from what Otto is talking about here because (a) Chidaine’s 2014s, at least a good number of them, appear to be flawed and actually premoxed; and (b) they showed extremely oxidized scents and flavors rather than merely a deep color, and showed those characteristics very early on in their evolutions.

Yup, that sounds more like good old premox, not just oxidative style / developed coppery color.

It looks like your bottle is substantially advanced for its youth. I opened a '99 today and it is a brilliant but deep yellow.

Nothing to do with advancement. The wine was spectacular as noted above
I have recently opened a 1988 and a 2000, both were as pale as yours

Thanks Otto. Next time I reply, I’ll make sure I make sure I am up-to-date with running gags in other threads

Never hurts to be updated of the most recent adventures of the incomparable Mr Eden.
