invino has Inman OGV Pinot for 27 bucks

No affiliation. Just seems a good deal.

Half of the winery price seems good.
Vintage?

  1. A really good price. Her OGV is her lighter style, food friendly Pinot Noir. Good stuff.

Last 3 notes on CT were quite good, so I jumped on 3.

This has one of the best noses you will ever sense: abundant strawberry and classic Pinot cherry, but with strong vanilla and caramel, you really try and savor this and just want to hold your nose in the glass.Almost perfect mouth-feel, very silky smooth and so light but flavorful. The vanilla seems almost stronger in the taste than the nose, and the extraordinarily long finish lets you in to the underlying herbs, spices, and flowers. Nice tannin structure holds the flavors together and literally makes your mouth water for more. But I would recommend resisting so you can enjoy the finish and try to pick up all the flavors. It has been too long since I’ve had a Pinot this good. I only got a hint of the minerality common in RRV, and it actually reminded me of “Rutherford dust”. If you drink a lot of CA Pinot, you should recognize some classic indicators here, which is always pleasant and smile inducing. Cheers! (287 views) - report issue | favorite author

Tasted by rickspicks on 12/20/2011 & rated 92 points: Really nice. Mostly red fruit with some earth, bramble, spice and noticeable floral elements. Good intensity of flavors with a medium weight body, great balance and a smooth, medium to long finish. I have had several vintages of this wine and it is always intensely flavored, but also feminine and floral. It is one of the few California pinots that is not (IMHO) overdone in any way. It has become one of my favorite California pinots and this vintage was another example of why. (411 views) - report issue | favorite author

Writing this after the fact, without notes. About a 30 min. decant. Perfectly integrated Russian River Pinot with lower alcohol than their Carneros brothers. Alcohol, tannins and acidity in perfect balance. Fruit forward, but not over-powering. Room for the subtle smokey, vanilla and earth flavors to come out. Very silky smooth in the mouth. Just a perfect paring with the turkey. (673 views) - report issue | favorite author

They just had 1985 Ridge Geyserville for $14.99 - I think I grabbed the last 2 - at least I tried for 6 and they only let me get 2. Now it is sold out. That is a screaming hot deal, and a pretty low risk if there are any provenance questions.

I grabbed a few of the '85 Geyserville as well. Killer deal assuming it’s drinkable. I had an '85 Monte Bello a few years back that was stunning. If the Geyserville is half as good, i’ll be happy.

Nice…and 2 more came available so I got 4. I even talked them into combining my two orders to save on shipping. flirtysmile

Start pulling corks already and let us know if the Geezer is still alive.

Indeed I will!
