Hi everyone,
I wanted to introduce myself and Prism Fine Wine.
I’m Duncan, and I own Prism, a small independent wine shop in Raleigh, North Carolina. I’ve lurked around Wine Berserkers for a while, and given how much overlap there is between the wines we chase and the wines discussed here, I thought it was probably time to properly say hello.
Prism grew out of the kind of wine buying I’ve always enjoyed personally — finding bottles that are genuinely interesting, sometimes difficult to find, and that I’d actually want to drink myself.
Champagne and Burgundy are probably the two biggest obsessions. We spend a lot of time looking for grower Champagne, small-production Burgundy, allocations, older vintages and things that don’t necessarily make sense for a conventional retail shelf. But we’re certainly not limited to France. If something is distinctive, well made and interesting, I want to know about it.
We’re also not interested in building a store around hundreds of interchangeable wines. I’d much rather have a small quantity of something special and then go hunting for the next thing when it disappears.
A few recent arrivals probably give a better idea of what we’re about: Patrick Piuze 2025 Chablis, Recaredo Turó d’en Mota 2009, Artuke El Escolladero 2024, Christian Gosset Champagne, Guillaume Lafon and Morey-Coffinet 2024s, along with a constantly changing selection of grower Champagne and Burgundy.
We have a physical shop in Raleigh as well as the website, and we’re currently finishing a small wine lounge beyond the retail space. If any Berserkers are ever in Raleigh, please come by and say hello. There’s usually something great open!
As a small welcome to the community, I’ve set up BERSERKERS10 for 10% off orders through the Prism website.
