You already got one, so for the next guy who searches stick blender or immersion blenders…
Get one yesterday!
I would have one for tomato sauce alone. Soup purees too. Otherwise I don’t bother with it. AND I STILL CAN’T IMAGINE NOT HAVING ONE.
I’ve had the Cuisinart for maybe 10 years. It’s good enough that I never ever think about whether it is good enough.
Freemott would use it on Grange.
(This never stops being funny.)
Gary,
By placing the pan, your blending, against a folded towel it will tip the pan at a 30-45 degree angle. Helps tip all the ingredients to one side while blending and maybe easier to control for small batches. Unless you use a tube vessel. Grant Achatz uses this method for making foams.

Echo the thoughts above. I have a braun. One consideration is getting one with a metal wand, so you don’t accidentally melt it when blending in a hot pot.
Paul - Thanks for the tip. In my case it wasn’t too difficult to tip a small All-Clad pot on my flat cooking surface. …Gary
I have a KitchenAid, model: KHB100WH2. It runs max 2.0 Amps. Has 9 variable speeds. Have had it for a few years, and have had no problems with it, and like it a lot.
