If you have 250 or less btls in your cellar, why are u not on CT?

Fair enough about the 100 point scale, but you don’t have to use it if you don’t want to. Just leave it blank and enter your score in your notes. If you enter as the first item in your text (e.g., “3 on my 5-point scale. This wine shows notes of leather…”, you could even sort on it if you export your notes to Excel.
Having said this, I just looked at CT and must admit it’s not clear that one can export their personal notes.

Yeah, I’m approaching 2000bottles. Iguess I’ll join but not looking forward to entering those bottles!
Really? I would love a suggestion for how to make it more clear? Although if you are only using the mobile app, we don’t have export there. You have to look at help or go to the desktop website.
Thanks, Eric. When I tried a simple export of my cellar I was only provided the number of tasting notes I’ve written, not the content. But I am able to get my notes via the webquery support you provided, which is pretty slick.
James, click MY TASTING NOTES at the upper right and THEN click the export button. The EXPORT button on the site will export whatever view of your data you are looking at.

I probably don’t match your 2500. Probably.
I did actually sign up for CT and have an account, but every time I stare at the (thermal) mass in the cellar, my motivation evaporates.

10 or so years ago I paid my offsite storage/management company a small fee to upload the wines they store and manage for me from excel to CellarTracker and they and I have used it ever since for cellar management. The company sold last year and after the successor insisted on using another platform, I let new management know my wines would be headed elsewhere unless they committed to keep my CellarTracker inventory up to date, which they have agreed to do. CellarTracker is so much better than any other wine cellar management software currently available for collector/consumers.

Call me old fashioned, but I continue to use a multi-tab (by region or varietal) excel spreadsheet I built nearly 30 years ago to keep track of my 2,600 bottle cellar. Old habits die hard!
I should really upload everything to ct but need to set aside the time.
It honestly doesn’t take long, especially if you already have a spreadsheet and buy mostly readily identifiable wines.
Now cataloging a rare whisky collection in CT, on the other hand, was a chore and a half.
I have some of my stuff cataloged in CT, but mostly the stuff in offsites which is a relatively small amount of the overall cellar. The wine here I mostly just have a mental inventory of, which for the most part tends to work fairly well, but there’s a lot of bottles, and the problem isn’t as much knowing what I have but where it’s located because a lot of my storage (maybe 70%) is in open bins and domaine boxes. Eventually it would be nice to have everything in racks and I have the space; I should have bought more racks last summer when the pricing was cheap; the metal Lockwood racks have increased in price by about 20%.
If I took the time I could still number all the boxes and bins with ct but the problem then is coming up with some sort of effective organization. It really is pretty much a disaster in there.
None of my wine is catalogued in CT by location. It’s organized, but not in CT. CT for me is useful for recording inventory (otherwise I’d rebuy things I don’t need to) and notes on the last time I had something. When you’re past a certain number, no one can remember everything. Location can be an added benefit, but it isn’t the baseline for CT’s utility.
