Icelandic Food Pair

I’m curious where your friend obtained the hakarl. I can see the interest in trying it as part of his project, but I hope he knows that Greenland sharks are on the edge of being endangered.

Evidently one of the people invited to the dinner had a can of it sitting around for years?

Iceland makes some very nice botanical laden gins. There is one made in Reykjavik that might be available at some shops. If gin is your thing, I would search around and see what you can find. I will try and find the name of the one we bought.

Edit. It was the Angelica gin brewed by 64 Degrees in Reykjavik. Very good.

Einstock Beer is readily available here, so it should be relatively easy to find. It’s not a bad little white ale.
I have a bottle of an icelandic vodka that I have reloaded a couple of times. I’m not a vodka drinker so it is mainly chosen based on price and lack of flavor.
