I will be in DC and Virginia for 3 -4 weeks from Weds on

Anyone have any suggestions of where to eat? Any wine friendly restaurants? Good interesting local joints, or the just gotta go as a tourist place?

Any suggestions on how to see all the sights in an orderly and efficient manner would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Corduroy at 1122 9th St. NW is one of our favorites. Phenomenal, creative food and an extensive and well developed wine list. Agraria at the Washington Harbor is good if you get a warm night and want to sit outside and people watch. The food is fresh/local/sustainable and the wine list has a few good choices. Plus, they are within walking distance of Georgetown so you can do that touristy thing. For local flavor, try browsing the Dupont and Adams Morgan neighborhoods.

Fair warning on the sights, try to tackle them at the beginning of your trip. The Cherry Blossoms are upon us in the next 2 weeks and the crowds are maddening around all the monuments and museums.

Have fun!

If the weather is good, do the monuments (Lincoln, Vietman Wall, WWII and looking down towards the Capitol) at night. It takes on another feeling of mystique.

Agreed on the Cherry Blossoms, do them in the middle of the week in the middle of the day, and you will still encounter many people, but not as many as on the weekend.

There are plenty great restaurants in all neighborhoods. Go ahead and check this out

for a listing of the Top 100 via The Washingtonian, a local magazine.

Have fun and don’t be afraid to PM me, I’m downtown in Dupont Circle, if you want any additional suggestions.
