“I want to party with you cowboy” -Bill Murray

well, i guess you’ve gotta stop drinking small like that then!

but seriously, how open were:

the 03 Clos les Lunelles
and the 05 Bdx’s in general?

The '03 Clos les Lunelles was inserted in a flight of five of the '05 BDX as a ringer. Was guessed to be the '05 Pavie-Mac and was really showing well at this stage. All of the top tier vs. QPR '05 BDX were still pretty tight and unforgiving. They are monsters indeed and will need to take a long slumber to come around. My favorites were the Pape Clement, Clos St. Martin, Clos Fourtet and for QPR, the Fombrauge.

What are you in training for, the WineOlympics?? [d_training.gif]
I can be there in 12 hours to take some of the load off. [berserker.gif]

Thanks Bill - I guess I practically have a bottle of Pavie Mac in my cellar then, and I didn’t even know it… [berserker.gif]

I’ve got two bottles of 05 Reignac and I’ve nearly given in to popping one several times recently - I should keep resisting then?

Hate to be the harbinger of doom…but our bottle was corked. So I cannot give a qualitative answer.

Yeah, what a difference a year can make with the Clos Fourtet. Maybe the bottle we had was off and not indicative of the quality of wine they are putting out. [shrug.gif]

The La Tour Carnet is a pretty good bargain at sub $40.

Classic.

Come on Bill. Don’t hide the depth of your drinking problem. Take your list and update it starting with Dandridge’s party. That was only 28 days ago. [dash1.gif]

Bill, how was the Pavie Mac?

Then I would have to factor in the Dan Kosta dinner and Flannery Fest II. I have no ability to recall even a tenth of the wines consumed.

Very poor showing. Unless the wines were incorrectly placed in decanters during the blinding, it stood way out. Very light in color for the vintage and it was cloudy. Not anywhere near the quality of the other '05s on the table that night, and nowhere near the expectations after Collins blurted out that he brought it.

Cloudy?? Did he store it in the window the entire time prior?

Doubt that. The wine “revealed” to be Pavie-Mac was most definitely cloudy and everyone commented on that very fact. Looking back, I have my doubts that it was labeled correctly. A 2005 top end BDX shouldn’t have the color of a 20 year old Burg.

I have several dbl mags of the 05 Clos Fourtet Bill. I guess I’ll bring one to the Flannery without teeth fest to be scheduled in 2038. [1974_eating_popcorn.gif]

What else do you write in your journal, Bill?

My secret man crushes on Southerners with faux hawks.
