I need a sauce idea for crab cakes TIA

Doing a bunch of crab cakes tonight and I’m looking for a classic sauce
any ideas?

Almost any sort of remoulade or tartare sauce.will do. My favorite crabcake sauce has been a serrano tartate sauce at the old Calistoga Inn in Napa Valley. The crabcakes were great too - no breading, just a light mayonnaise binder for the seasoned crabmeat, fried with a light crust. They were very tasty with the spicy serrano chile in a good tartare sauce. Unfortunately I don’t have a recipe, but I’ve reproduced it successfully a couple times.

Remoulade would be great, as would something like blood orange hollandaise (if you can find blood oranges) or maybe a lime hollandaise. I like Dick’s serrano tartar sauce and would suggest also something with pureed chipotles . . . perhaps chipotle creme fraiche or similar.

whole grain mustard buerre blanc

I used to do a simple chipotle mayonaise with Tabasco chipotle sauce until I tried the recipe from the boulevard cookbook. They have two sauces; IIRC one is effectively a purée of whole lemon with olive oil, the other is a purée if chervil, asparagus, oil and champagne vinegar.

Red pepper aioli.
