I need a grabber for 3-deep storage

My storage cabinet at Spectrum Wine is those three deep tubes. I can only reach my arm in (since I’m soooo muscular, right?) to get the first two.

So, Trish at Spectrum Wine always kept a grabber device that could grab the neck of the deep bottle and pull it out. But she lost it during the remodel surrounding the Wine Exchange / Spectrum merger.

The challenge is that the grabber needs to be narrow enough to fit through the tube (about 4 1/2" wide) while still staying open enough to grab the bottle neck. In other words, it not only needs to fit into the tube, but it needs to fit in while open more than the thickness of the bottle neck.

Anyone know of one? I can’t seem to find anything online that meets the requirements.

One option might be those cable grabbers that are for rescuing your ring from the drain etc. But then the grabber would need to be strong enough to pull a full wine bottle.

Huge thanks to any help here.

Could a light bulb pole work?

I checked around at work, I couldn’t find a two foot long speculum.

Are the tubes horizontal?

Oh, how about…

I bet a snare pole would work well.

Could you pinch the neck with two broom handles and draw it out?

If the scale here is true, this might work. The arms extend.

Go Fancy, a handheld vacuum cleaner with an extension tube. You can bedazzle it.

Are you good with chopsticks?

I have figured out what I’d go with…I put on my thinking cap…

How about a Shop Vac?

I was actually gonna say, “ can you chopstick it with two broom handles?”

Folded over Duct tape on the end of a pole and pull it out?

Gum on the end of a stick!

My father in law has a wall in his cellar that is 3 deep, and he uses a version of these without any issues. Pulls the neck of bottle no problem

That’s the one I bought but the mouth closes down almost all the way to fit inside the tube and so it can’t grab the bottle.

It would be pretty hard, you’re reaching over two bottles deep and not easy to create enough pressure sideways to grab the bottle.

Plus I need to do this fairly often so it’s not a one-off deal.

I am actually half Chinese so my chopstick game is pretty good!

I think any “stick two separate things in there and squeeze together on the neck and pull out” concept isn’t going to work. The bottle is too heavy, you’re reaching in too far, the glass is slippery.

Maybe some extra long cooking tongs?

OR, OR, or, orororor… maybe some well trained hamsters. Like hamster oompa loompas that you give a bin number to and pull the bottle. And green.

Now, that would be bawler.

I figured people were going to have some fun with this, but I underestimated how much!

Now you gotta plan ahead and tie string to the necks of those three deep bottle.
