I just threw up in my mouth!

Terlato’s 2006 Gaja prices.

Are they freakin kidding me? They still have the last 5 vintages available and they raise the price on 2006 to such an absurd amount?

What an insult!

With the title, I thought for sure it was another Sierra Carche tasting… flirtysmile

Boy, for a second there I was scared Dan had tried some of my wines. [shock.gif]

Michel, thats funny!

Pray tell, Dan. What are the prices? I’m afraid to ask.

SRP OVER $500!

Ouch!

Thanks.

2006 is a vintage of the century [berserker.gif]

I always wonder does anybody ever drink those wines. When I was in the buisness we rarely sold any Gaja, not to say that wines were not good as they truly were nice, just too expensive.

Another thing that always striked me about his Cru’s is that any better store all over the world has them, even in Croatia, and they were suppose to be rare.

They are the Brewer-Cliftons or Doms of Piedmont?

We recently sold 2003s for $175/btl…every few months I get phone calls from the importer/distributor looking to see if I can move this stuff.

Why not just cut the price in half and start over again?

I thought this might be a comment about the Steve Phillips affair thing, but then noticed it was not in the right forum.

I’m with you, I laughed, crumpled and never looked back.

I’m dumbfounded by the amount of older stuff they have too. The inventory is staggering. They should hire some of the recently departed C&E execs, if not for just a week, for them to alert them to what their fate could be if they don’t move some of the expensive goods.

Ian

You want a consulting gig for these guys? We go in at $400/hour and split it up.

Pathetic.

Gaja 2005 on Cinderella?

Regular price $500

Cinderella Price: $440!

Their whole approach from the beginning was to have very high prices so that people would know the quality is high. If the wine won’t sell, it must be that the price is too low still. headbang

Wow Dan you guys only have 5 vintages. I thinkwe have 10+ in Chicago! [help.gif]

As long as the distributor is buying I guess Gaja is fine…
