I continue to derive much pleasure from 2010

  • 2010 Domaine Guy Roulot Bourgogne Blanc - France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc (11/8/2012)
Clean, bright, pure and fresh. This has some white flowers, white peach, lemon and minerals on the nose. In the mouth it is crisp and rocky, not particularly deep but beautifully proportioned and quite flinty on the finish.
  • 2010 Jérôme Chezeaux Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru (11/8/2012)
The 09 version was super this is quite brilliant. It has the most engaging scent of violets, freshly ground spices, pomegranate, grated ginger and cherry. The palate is vinous velvet. It has so much detail and finesse and whilst there is authority it has no heaviness whatsoever. Towards the finish there are mineral strands of silk spun through the sweet cherries and length of flavour is outstanding.
