How would we rate 1982 Bordeaux if they were released today?

I have only tasted a bit of the 2016s. If I were younger, I probably would have been very interested in 2016 Bordeauxs from what little I tasted, but my purchases these days are mostly in different directions.

Hi Maureen. It’s been many years since we worked together on that project. Hope you are doing well.

1986 is my daughter’s birth year, and I bought a bunch of 86 BDX on futures to serve at her wedding, including GL. We had some of the GL left over after the wedding, and I opened one a few weeks ago. Wonderful, and for my taste, maybe still some evolution left. I never dreamed how many of the 86s would be 40 year wines.

This is such great advice. The GR 1986 might be the best bang for your buck, true aged, true old school Bordeaux, in the last 35 years, since the other great wine with the same criterion, the 1982 GR.
