After the Dodgers dumped him, Andruw signed a minor league contract with the Rangers. Just three years ago he hit 41 HRs and had 129 RBI for the Braves.

Poor guy. Maybe now that he’s in the Rangers organization, he can find A-Rod’s old roid man, and “get well”.

Let’s not call him poor…he is getting paid something like $12-13M by the Dodgers this year while he is in the Minors.

That being said, his performance fell off a cliff, coincidentally right after performance enhancers were banned by MLB…and his weight gain, etc.

Well we also have Jason Schmidt sitting on his arse for another $15-16M…although he “may” pitch by the end of May.

But at least both are off the books (except for some deferred Jones money) after this season. Zito has some additional years at that albatross of a contract.

Funny you mention Zito, because this has been sitting on my desk at work now for over a year… just like this.

Classic pic! As a die hard A’s fan I couldn’t be happier Billy Beane dealt him at high market across the bay.

I’m willing to go out on a limb here and say Jones will have a productive year this year. I don’t see 50+ bombs and 125+ rbi’s but I think 30 and 90 could be possible.
