spelling out the cab clone and the forest origin where the staves for the barrels were chosen from then the cooper’s name and the tier of wine and indication on aging time or barrel selection.
yet it doesnt tell me anything…
Del Dotto loves to do single barrel wines… All kinds of weird variations. The issue is that once you pop a bottle, if you like it… you’ll probably never be able to get it again.
Years ago I was at the winery and did the cellar/barrel tasting… I stumbled out of there hours later and had spent a lot of money yet left with nothing because it was all still in the barrel.
This is one of the bottles I bought:
2008 Del Dotto Cabernet Sauvignon Connoiseur’s Series Centre French Oak Sylvain Vineyard 887 D254 SO/NO St. Helena
I couldn’t believe that it was actually listed in Cellar Tracker… poor Andrew at Cellartracker. He must hate Del Dotto…
I hope it’s good when I finally pop it.
Maybe the Del Dottos got their start working in the German wine industry.
Hah. Honestly, the level of detail in some of these is so pathological that we have largely just given up on policing the Del Dotto entries on CT. At a certain level we can only curate so much.
I thought you were going to say “Pharaoh Moans”…
Oh I don’t blame you a bit…
Whenever I notice something out of whack I sit there and weigh my level of commitment in wanting to help things get “cleaned up”… If it’s a minor project, I send the request…
sometimes, it’s just too overwhelming.
Oh, and then there are the times when you do get it cleaned up and some user just goes back in a week later and screws it all up again by entering new wines that are all wrong.

You don’t drink German wines, do you?
