Hotels in Lisbon

Close friend of family is having a destination wedding in Lisbon. Unfamiliar with the City, but we are looking for a really good hotel close to the destination. Any recommendations

No thanks. This is a very specific Lisbon question, in fact it is not even the whole of Lisbon, but a part of it, since we would prefer find a hotel close to the destination wedding, and side activities.

Not for everyone, but we enjoyed our few days at the Casa Balthazar…

My good friend and Wineberserker bon vivant @Robert.A.Jr is in Lisbon as we speak. You should hit him up. He sent me a picture of a boutique hotel where he was staying, it looked quite nice.

fixed the tag for you so he sees it, since he does truly love to read positive posts about himself, wouldn’t want him to miss it

Thanks. They must not have wifi in Portugal. It is unusual for him not to tell us about the epicness he is experiencing.

He’s posting about some boring wines in Wine Talk, I saw, but I didn’t read them because it’s all the same blather, add some flowery prose, blah blah

I don’t know that there is a tip-top property in the close vicinity.

We stayed at, and loved, the Lumiares, which is not all that far away.

I stayed at The One Palácio da Anunciada in 2020 which was lovely and reviews still seem to be very good. Its the right end and side of Avenue de Liberdade for La Distillerie, a 25 minute walk or 18 mins with public transport as far as I can see.

I have had good luck with the converted pousadas. I have not stayed here, but the Alfama one is a 10 minute walk from your venue.

9.0 on Booking.com, which is solid.
