Hi, my name is Steve and I have a wine buying problem …

My offsite storage informed me today that they received (today) 108 bottles of 2007 Produttori Crus and 72 bottles of older Burgundy.

Step 1 is to admit the problem

Step 2 is to stop buying (ouch it hurts to just say that)…

I don’t have a clue what Produttori Crus are, I’m guessing Italian, but man do I hope they are damn tasty. [snort.gif]

Blame Leo Jadot.

They are probably tasty, starting in about 10-15 years. Better look into a bigger locker, or perhaps excavating under your house.

they will be in 15+ years …

9 cases? What about subsequent vintages? Just curious, where to you store wine? I live in Westchester also.

You are soooo late to this party. WBA was formed years ago and I am a charter member. Do not listen to Salil - he is way too young. I’m still holding on to my bottle of 1973 Mouton that I bought on release as one of my earlier forays intpo this stupidity, and you will have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers if you want it some day.

By the way - I’ve been thinking about some sort of Westchester Backyard Bash later in the year, so be sure to keep a few bottles ready at hand.

Sounds great!,

I better go buy some bottles for that [snort.gif]

Great value in Barbaresco:

You don’t have a problem, you are a wise investor!

The 07 Rabaja is terrific.

You’ll know you are completely hopeless when, in order to keep your cellar inventory stable, you stop entering bottles into CellarTracker.

Love those Produttori wines, but really do not get the idea of a solid case of each cru. That’s a whole lot of one year/one producer. Oh wat…I did nearly the exact same thing with 2001 Donnhoff, and have not regretted a single bottle (other than all the corked Leistenberg Kabinett).

Welcome, David, why don’t you tell the rest of the group your story [snort.gif]

Can I get a cup of coffee first? [wink.gif]

Get over it. It’s like the Cosa Nostra: you can’t get out— ever.

Ken, have you had the Produttori Rabaja from 07 ? Any notes ?

Steve, tell us about the old Burgundy ? It sounds painful.

The collector gene can be overwhelming. Better this than dolls or Star Wars action figures.

I have never collected anything ever before … ever. Well, except for maybe the 298 Dead shows that I went to, and the 1,000s of other concerts that I attended. Oh yeah, quite a few CDs. Lps and tapes (cassettes, dat and Reel to reel) over the years, but that’s not really collecting.

Not quite sure what it is.

And much cleaner than Hoarding!

Trust me, you are a collector.

And much too old to be a deadhead…
