Deep purple in the glass. I forgot to pop it in the morning so I didnt decant it at all, and I was worried that it wouldnt show well. Well, within 5 minutes in the glass the nose was full of violets, coffee and baking spices. The palate is full with great texture and lots of fruit with great balancing acid. I was sitting with 3 non geeks who enjoy wine sporadically and they were fighting for the dregs. Wow.
Also had an 07 Loring Durell that was typical Loring…big, lots of berries and cola. Nice acid. The finish was a little clipped.
