Here we go again. Favre(fu)-a-thon 3.0 in San Francisco

Another year. Another weekend in San Francisco. Another live update.

If you hate reading about and looking at photos of friends getting together, drinking great wine and having fun then you should probably not click this thread again.

Id like to rename this to Favre fu thon since I came up with the themes for the dinner this weekend

Our themes for this weekend are
Friday night: grand cru Leroy and hyphenated Montrachet

Saturday night: rsv/richebourg and Montrachet.

Get ready for the updates! Dinner starts at 7pm tonight!

No dujac?

No live streaming feed?

See you there Charlie. champagne.gif

Heading there now Charlie and I’m thirsty . Don’t forget about lunch tomorrow!!!

Dead hookers or it didn’t happen.

We are trying to keep this thread PG Glenn - not sure if we’re going to be able to this though

Here’s hoping someone brings a dujac rsv

Looking forward to seeing what you guys open.

You got a shot thru the early evening, I guess.

A decent amount of Leroy. Someone forgot the theme and brought 05 drc rsv. Pity :stuck_out_tongue:

Who’s the cheap ass who brought the Negoc Leroy??? pileon

First flight of the night, bbm

88 ramonet: chicken broth, mint on the nose. Beautifully balanced. Puckering acid. Banana. Long finish of sweet lemons
88 l carillon: soft waxy palate. Not as expressive as the ramonet. A bit closed.
00 leflaive: sulfur. Apple on the nose. Powerful palate. Banana, a bit prickly oak on it but it’s such a big broad wine
07 ramonet: a lil oxidized. Not a strong impression
09 l carillon : beast of a wine. Just huge on the palate. Super rich fruit. A touch of vanilla but really powerful attack and a dense finish. Really nice

88 ramonet is probably wine of the flight.

Hahahahaha! Took the words right out of my mouth!

Assorted flight

2011 pierre yves Colin morey Criots: super rich on the palate. Just tongue smacking good amounts of citrus and other waxy stone fruits. Very nice. Pycm killed in 2011
2007 Bouchard chev cabotte (mag): lemon curd and loads of acidity. Very young. Love 07 acidity.
2006 Bouchard chev (mag): fat and tropical. Much broader than the 07.
2004 pierre morey batard: so reduced wow.
2000 ramonet batard: advanced. A touch of caramel on the nose. Much much darker than everything else. On the palate a bit nutty but the palate is crisp. Damn you ramonet.

No hate, just envy [cheers.gif] Never begrudge anyone drinking great wines, though I do wonder some times if each bottle gets the attention it deserves.

At least now we know how Charlie can afford to drink like this: he makes his wife shop at Forever 21 neener

That’s an army of bottles you got there. How many people are drinking these bad boys? :astonished:

Just Fu and Favre. Why?

Chev Monty flight
03 chateau puligny: not as ripe as I expected but not much going on.
04 Henri boillot: so good. Tons of opulent fruit. Beautiful texture. Killer wine. Broad and beautiful.
02 sauzet: rich pineapple and a touch of bread. Fine but needs a little time.
2001 g deleger: buttery on the nose not much going on on the palate.
89 chev Monty dem: surprised at the oak presence as it adds bitterness to the back end. Really tough to get past it. Others might have more concise notes.

Boillot easily wine of the night

Killing me boys! Just killing me!

Can’t wait to hear about the Leroy lineup! :frowning:
