Help with wine list

I’m going to Banff this summer; I planned to ask Mike Grammer and anyone else I can find for recommendations on regions, varieties and producers in Canada I should be looking for on restaurant lists. I enjoy the sense of exploration, at least when the wines are interesting enough to be worth it, as I think Canadian wines are overall.

Actually, I quite like the Buisson, and it is a little more rare. I wouldn’t hesitate to go with either, though I haven’t had anything from 2005 recently. Should be pretty much in its prime right now, ask the somm.

Might be out of comfort zone, but the 2013 Alzinger Riesling Hohereck is stunningly brilliant riesling, from one of the best producers in one of the best vintages in recent memory.

2012 Christian Moreau Valmur is excellent, and pretty fairly priced on this list.

Burgundies are stupid prices, not one I could go for.

Chevalier-Montrachet, “Clos des Chevaliers,”Grand Cru, Dom. J. Chartron 1994 $ 220

I know Chartron is not a hugely popular producer, but they make good whites, that piece of CM is serious Grand Cru, and that’s $220 coupled with oxidation insurance. I’d jump at that in a heartbeat.
