HdR Offline Thursday April 30? CANCELLED

Hdr is coming up soon! Are we having a Berserker offline?

Personally, I would love to host an offline here, but don’t think I can swing it that weekend. I wouldn’t mind helping to organize one if we can find another venue. Ideally, I’d like to find a big outdoor space with a grill or the capability of bringing in grills. Any interest? Ideas, suggestions?

Kimberly and I will be pouring at the grand tasting, and attending to Syrah shoot out. We would love to get together with the berserkers for an offline. [friends.gif] [drinkers.gif]

Me!
I know Jacob Terrell mentioned he might be able to do one, but not sure if he will be able to swing it with their up coming move.

I just hope you all relize how lucky you are to be in Cali!!! I am always so jealous of all your wine events. The best we have is a tasting at a retailer! :frowning:

Okay, the Syrah shootout is on Thursday morning, the main events on Fri. and Sat. There’s a slim-to-good chance we could have the event here if it’s done during the day. Would anyone be interested in a Thursday afternoon tasting? Also, I am still considering doing a cross-platform tasting of Dusi vineyard zinfandels … that would be a departure from the Rhone theme of the weekend, but also a good time to do it for several reasons …

Thursday, April 30
2 pm to 5 pm (theoretically)
Theme: Dusi Vineyard Zinfandel
Food: Casual potluck, apps for 40 provided by Dover Canyon
Cost: 1-2 bottles of Dusi Vineyard Zinfandel, plus some meat to grill or sides

I will also invite all of the producers of Dusi Vineyard to attend and/or provide 2 bottles of a Dusi release.

Yeah. I’ll let you call Doug and ask him if I can have the day off.

If my flight is on on-time I could stop by
toward the later part of the event…

Mel

I have a plan.

Oh goody. [highfive.gif]

If I can get out of working, I’d love to come Mary…I have an '05 Meridian Dusi to toss in the mix if I can make it

Working again? Where at?

Damn it! The wife and I are coming up to Paso at the end of May so we won’t be here for this one. Argh!!!

Not a winery…doing a some construction labor these days…helps pay the bills…especially Bill my bookie and Bill my parole officer

No worries. If there isn’t sufficient interest from Berserkers by the end of March, I am going to move the date to a day and time more convenient for locals. I am pretty sure we can get 40-60 people easy for a private cross-producer Dusi tasting! And couple that with a virtual board tasting, it will be quite a nice little zinfandel event!

Would love to consider coming . . . you should know, though, that the Syrah ShootOut goes on for quite some time - lunch is included and most folks hang out until 2 or 3 . . . AND they’ve just tasted over 50 syrahs AND THEN had lunch with MORE wine (and no bread at Villa Creek Restaurant - a bit of a pet peeve on my part).

Therefore, unlikely to assume many of them would attend . .

Just an FYI . . .

BTW, I may be able to make it - depends on my schedule. Please keep me updated!!!

I figured as much, Larry! But Thursday afternoon of HdR is the only time really I can offer. Got a couple of requests to have it on that weekend, but the request-ors have not stepped up. Sounds like we should start picking a party date and time for the locals! A Saturday, clearly, for the working winemaking crowd … how about early June??

Larry, are you going to be at the SYrah shoot out?

Sorry, due to lack of interest, this date is cancelled. The Dusi tasting will be held the first weekend of June and is now invitation only. If you are interested in attending, please PM me for details.

I will not be at the Syrah Shootout this year - we did not get our entry in early enough and were ‘locked out’ . . .

I will be at Rhone and Bowl, though, and then will be pouring for Epiphany on both Friday and Saturday . . .

Cheers!

Hey Mary

Unfortunately, something came up that weekend and I’ll be out of town…If I get myself organized, I’ll try and post in the “virtual” tasting…I’m sure you’ll all have a good time anyways
