Have wine at Envoyer?

It went to their office to purchase a bottle for a dinner. I’m standing in a cage in the refrigerated warehouse that is their office/desk and while they’re doing the paperwork I’m looking around at all these boxes of wine stacked to the ceiling with customer names written in huge font staring at me.

It looked like a Wineberserkers roll call! I recognized tons of names, probably 10-12.

I’m telling your wives!

Omerta…

Have wine at Envoyer? Does a bear do it in the woods?

Brig’s right. I have a locker a few feet from their offices, which has been a huge bonus for the past several years.

I’ve seen your name Russ, and many others. Terry, their shipping manager, gives me their extra 12-pack euro/flat empties as storage (the only way to do it in a locker), and there’s been more than one Berserkers name scribbled on those boxes in my locker.

Brig’s too nice, but I could blackmail many Berserkers, so watch yourselves!

It has been fun to watch Greg/Scott/Terry expand Envoyer from a small office and locker, with Terry packing/storing shipments in a small open space, to a large operation today that requires a two-story system of cages that must be about 1,500 SF or more (with separate offices). It’s cool to see Greg and his crew do well!

I worry they’ve outgrown the space at Off the Vine and will move to their own space sometime soon.

Andrew - I couldn’t agree more about seeing Greg and his team doing well. I have so many great wines in my cellar thanks to Envoyer. However, from a completely selfish perspective, Greg’s success is making it very hard to grab a few of the really interesting hard to find wines he offers. If you do not respond within 30 minutes of the offer being emailed forget about it. The price of success.

I have yet to order from them but did check out their website a number of times a while back based on a friend ordering from them. The last few times I have checked it though it has said “under maintenance”. Is there a secret handshake to look at it now?

+1

Gotta move fast! I’ve missed many offers, but in the end it might have saved my marriage. My wife told Greg to his face she hated him. She wasn’t joking. Poor Greg, since I mostly bug Scott anyway.

Nothing secret. Their inventory was not always updated anyway. The best way is to look at the bottom of offers or go through old emails and call Alexis to check. I just look in their leftovers locker…there’s always some good stuff there, so don’t be shy about calling them.

nowadays it doesn’t matter when you reply for the offers with only a few btls, just matters who and how many you want

Stay away from the cage–no good can come from it, Brigger. I use the side door, I say bring up my wine and then I rudely leave. Well, this is usually the plan and it works most of the time. When it doesn’t, I end up with more champagne or chenin.

There was a box with your name on it! Ha ha.
