Has anyone tasted the 07 Myriad cabs? Tasting with Mike and Leah Sunday Aug 16th

I got an allocation invite. Not cheap, not expensive. Good year, good vineyard. Anyone actually swirll any of this juice? Please no recs from Dr Big J.
Thanks.
The Tasting with Mike and Leah is set for Sunday August 16th at 10:30 A.M. Please advise if you wish to join me at their home.

Ryan Curry just came back from Napa and tasted them, he spoke very very highly of Mike’s wines. I believe Mike is open for tastings in Napa. Maybe give it a taste when you come in August before purchasing? I might try to schedule a lil something something.

Sort of what I was thinking on Sat. Charlie.

that’s what i was thinking too! O_O Let us coordinate over pm

Don’t do it on Sat Javelina Jack…make an appt on Friday and I’ll join.

Is this a virtual tasting, or are you talking about Berserkerfest?

I still haven’t found a flight and don’t know what time I can arrive. If I can get there in time you are on.
Aug 14th Todd, you are welcome to join us.

I placed a call to Mike and asked if he was open for a small group tasting on Friday afternoon. I will post after he returns the call.

I tried them on Saturday. Really well made, very good wines.

Mike and Leah are really kind people. Picked up my Myriad cabs and syrahs from Mike in April when I was last in Napa. They also hooked me up with their Rose which is a blend of cab & syrah. Have not opened the 07 Cabs yet, but did try his 05. Good juice!

And that from a Burghound. [cheers.gif]

Don’t forget that professed love of Champagne. newhere

Is anyone bring Champers to the Fest? I didn’t see any on the list. They don’t travel well.

Somebody mentioned it I thought.

I have a local hookup in San Anselmo that floats me good deals on stuff and I can source a mag or two.

I know, I am scaring myself  I told Will Segui I’d bring some champagne to the party at Carrie’s on Saturday. There is a shop called JV’s 2 blocks from Carrie’s with Pierre Peters, Agrapart, Camille Saves, Egly-Ouriet, Krug…etc. They have a great selection but prices are just a little higher

I’m doing the tasting tour on Friday…bunch of stuff, but I hate to miss this, too. Wonder how I could make them both work.

I just spoke with Mike. He and his family will be in Boston and New York until Saturday. He has a tasting already scheduled in St Helena on Sunday Morning so any willing BSer’s with some blood left in their alcohol streams are invited. I am in.

count me in Jack, when is it?

It’s when we are doing all those winery tastings you scheduled, ace.

FYI - according to the website, both cabs are sold out. [cry.gif]

Jack, please post the date and time. If I find a good deal on a flight, I’ll try to make it to the tasting. I only bought 2 bottles so far of the $65 Cab, if it fits my palate, would buy more. The 06 Myriad was wonderful, I compared it to the 01 Paloma Merlot.
