Has anyone had this Champagne?

2005 Georges Vesselle Brut Zero Vintage Grand Cru

I’m trying to find a Champagne to bring along with my wife and I for our 3 year anniverary celebration. I recently asked for suggestions from the menu of the place we’ll be eating. The list sucked so here we are. If you have another easily-found Champagne under $60, please suggest it!

Are you looking for a recommendation on the restaurant list (please post a link) or champagnes in general for <$60?

I don’t know this producer but I’d seek a 02, 04 or 06 vintage if possible.

The list was previously posted and it is horrible so we’re bringing our own bottle! I’m looking for general recs that are easy to find under $60.

Unfortunately, I have never had the afforementioned Champagne. However, I recently had an '05 Launois. It is 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay. It was nothing amazing, but still a solid bottle from what appears to be a so-so vintage. It retails for around $45/bottle.

Jose Dhondt Blanc De Blanc @$50

Have you tried Corbon? The 2002 and 2004 are terrific and available in NYC, CT and Florida (I am the importer) How about Bereche? Of ones that I do not import, Marie Noelle Ledru is sensational.

I really like NV Pierre Péters Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut Cuvée de Réserve. You can easily find it for under $60.

That’s a tasty choice for sure.

Ive had the 2002 and it was only average. Given the vintage, i wouldnt be expecting great things.

Had the 2002 Vesselle which was good (but not great).
Launois is also ok.
I recommend to look for Moutard - both the Brut and the Rosé (cuvaison) are really good for the price - and the 6 cepages is an interesting curiosity.

Love the Dhondt and Pierre Peters suggestions. I’d also add the NV Roederer Brut which is awesome (we’ve been paying <$40 here).

Moutard is our go to qpr champagne.

Thanks everyone. I’m in SoCal and will start my hunt!
