I have not … yet.
I remember the controversy with this being a hostage wine. Glad I passed on offerings.
FYI: I want to be rocked at these prices.

Yes on a Cabernet from 02. Wasn’t great initially, 2 bottles lozy taste, and 1 very good one 6 months ago. No longer on thier list since they linked the Merlot and Cab together. I don’t regret it.

I can’t answer the question as I’ve had none. I bought on the 05 but passed this year. Of the 50 or so lists I dropped this year, this is one that leaves me with a twinge of droppers remorse. Seems to be a pretty unique mesoclimate, they practice a draconian selection process at the berry level. Parker noted that they employ a 40-50 day maceration period, which explains why they’re not giving up much young. Still on my radar though, and may bite in 07.
Looks good anyway… Thanks grape radio.
If the 2003 Merlot I had last weekend is any indication, you will love them Mike.
Just bought one so hoping so.
2003 Merlot was very good.
I liked the 01 Paradise Hill Merlot and thought it showed potential but in need of time. I also enjoyed the 02 Paradise Hill Merlot which was a major monster.
I know I have had the 04s but don’t have any notes but I remember them being a little unforgiving and I was unsure about them.

Nope…and same for Pillar Rock. Remember that supposed cult label.
God speed.
I used to be on the list. I have had a few and still have some more in the cellar. My impressions??? I am no longer on the list.
only one I have had was the 04 cab and it was very disappointing
Nope. Drinking 3 bottles of the 02 was enough to make me never buy again. If I want the same taste I can always mix equal parts of welch’s, vodka, and polluted seawater.

I remember…and there is some still in the cellar…any recent tastes?
The 02 Merlot is better than the Cab IMHO…Having had both of them within the past 3 months.

I had the same bottle, and this was a disappointment. Flawed, possibly? Surely not great.
Had the 99 Cab last week and it was pretty damn good. It soundly spanked the 1997 Peter Michael Les Pavots.

I was underwhelmed when trying Blankiet on release but did like the 2003 Merlot last time I had it. Here is the TN:
As you can see, I wasn’t rocked by it. My opinion was it’s good, but overpriced and not worth the high price tag.
In an anti-merlot world, I feel bad for Blankiet as the best wines they make are merlots and probably have a hard time selling through.
Really enjoy Blankiet Merlot as well, not a whole lot of others in California doing it better IMO . . .
Had an '02 Cab with dinner last night. I wouldn’t say that it rocked my world, but it was damn fine. That said, I dropped off the list after buying the '02.
