Funny timing on this post: I am taking a wine trip on Friday and am thinking of bringing a '12 Harlan to celebrate my 60th. A search on the one brought up this thread.

A box of collectible wine you can’t open? I don’t see the problem. :wink:

If it is nailed shut, use what I call ‘the universal tool:’ that dull knife that comes in your dinnerware set with the forks and spoons.

Just insert and twist!

I opened mine today. There was one staple keeping the rope from sliding. Easy twist of a screwdriver frees it as others said.

The question now becomes- do you leave one bottle in a wood box?

You should probably send it to me for safe keeping.
