Half Wit Wines Great Selection 375's

I don’t know anything about them, but I found their website. Best selection of 375’s I’ve seen

http://www.halfwitwines.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

About 1 year ago they had a terrific sale on 1/2 bottles of Champagne. Really, really nice deals. I purchased about 40-50 bottles. So far about 80%-90% are undrinkable as they are cooked.

Have you talked to them about a refund?

I sent them an email after my first few bad bottles, no reply. End of story. Won’t ever buy from them again. And if anyone asks for opinions, I’ll tell them my story.

'nuff said.

Cue Posner…

wait for it…

wait for it…

I know nothing about this place, other than the fact that I always admired their selection of half btls as we try to get more “cool” half btls in the store.

Sorry to let you down, T Bone. I will try to dig up some dirt, now, though.

Gimme 10 minutes (it takes a bit longer from Aruba).

You are in Aruba and wasting time on this board??? Where are your priorities man?

Bruce, he is only there with his wife, who do you think he would rather be with??? pileon [basic-smile.gif] [tease.gif]

Oh wait, I thought you had an issue with some '05 italian half bottles? Was I mistaken?

Sorry about that, just trying to merge two threads into one.

Oh, and no disregard to Halfwit wines. Just a poke at Posner’s situation, which isn’t funny of course.

Your ex-wife? Ohhhhhhh…that’s gonna leave a mark dere Tommy Boy!

Drink up Jack…there’s always Spring Training and the Diamondbacks!!!

What rhymes with truck sue T-Bone???

Look at the prices. I know 375mls tend to be 60% and maybe 75% of the price of a 750ml but sometimes I have seen it where the price is almost 80% or 90% of the 750ml cost. Really very little incentive to buy 375mls at that point.

Totally agree. I looked through that site a few years ago and, because of their pricing, never bought anything from them. May as well buy 750s.

Production costs are much higher for 375mls. However, with Stelvin enclosures, you can save quite a bit from the cost of a good cork enclosure, eat a little bit on your end, and offer at half the price as 750’s.

Many consumers don’t realize the cost of a 375ml isn’t just “half” that of a 750.

I have purchased many bottles of .375 Bordeaux for years EP. The average price is about 55% of a .750.

Hi, Terence and Jack.

I understand cost of production is not automatically half. It doesn’t really matter to me as a consumer, though. Am just saying…

The bottles I was interested in were materially more than 55% the usual prices of 750s; so I just bought 750s - for the price difference, it made more sense to me to just spend a little more for the 750s.

Just as a backgrounder, I looked to HalfWit when I was diagnosed as hypertensive and advised to cut back on drinking - so I figured to start stocking up on 375s. Didn’t wind up doing so because of prices of 375s (the ones I wanted anyway). I just cut down my wine-drinking to 2-3 days per week from 4-6.

LMD…completely understand! Even though there is a market for 375’s, we do understand the consumer’s perception on the cost versus the same in 750ml. We produce a set amount each year to satisfy those that work well with them.

I’m sure you’re drinking well those 2-3 days per week now! Stay healthy!

I do try my best on both counts, thanks!

Best,

N
