Grilled Opah - White Red Rose' or what would you drink?

Since my white stash is limited and my rose’ non-existent, I don’t need specific recommendations for a wine but would like ballpark ideas. Simply grilled with citrus, olive oil, salt and pepper. What’s good?

Sauvignon blanc or dry chenin blanc.

good Chard.

Good advice, Bob and Glen. We went with a wine I chose before reading your sage words of wisdom.

2002 La Chabilisienne, Chablis Premier Cru. Second bottle of two picked up at a local Costco four years ago. A steal at $17. Nice fruit profile with a terrific citrus (mostly lemon) finish. Lean and mean.

Chenin, Sav Blanc and Chard (not buttery) are the go to wines for grilled Opah. We did have a pesto type sauce made with a basil, mint, parsley base blended with olive oil and lemon juice. Paired well with the acidic Chablis.

Am I the only one who looked quickly at this thread title and thought you were grilling Oprah?

Yes, you are. I knew she meant OPAH, though there is a resemblance. I think it’s the eyes.

That’s a good bottle - and they put it on clearance at our local Costco for $10! Wish I bought more when it was available at that price - the case that I originally bought is almost gone.
