I am in transit from Cairo to Chicago and have 2-3 hours to kill at LHR. Went into “Gordon Ramsay Plane Food” expecting more or less a Wolfgang Puck Express kind of experience.
Wrong!
This is quite the proper restaurant, with a kitchen behind a glass staffed with a huge number of cooks–seriously, it reminded me of the open kitchen at Citronelle in DC. The two gentlemen sitting at a table next to me were served Badoit water; all the dishes I saw were impressive looking, including my deconstructed Caesar Salad with beautiful, real anchovies on it.
Nice wine list, too.
Its not cheap–very expensive for an airport restaurant–moreso if you’re paying in dollars.
But really terrific in every way. I recommend it highly.
