Hi and happy Berserker Day 17 (Jan 30, 2026)!

First off, thank you to the WB community for the continued support over the years. This is our 6th WB day, and we truly wouldn’t be here without this community.

Every year, WB is where we get to step back and remember how Glasvin started — a tiny idea, a lot of obsession over glass shapes, and a group of wine nerds willing to take a chance on a new brand. Since then, Glasvin has grown into something we could never have imagined, but WB has always remained the heart of it.

So thank you for being part of this journey with us.

I’m obviously biased but the stemmed whiskey glasses are incredible. I’ve been sharing them with everyone I can and everyone has had rave reviews. It has brought my spirits drinking to a whole new level.

Hi again @davidkong ! Glad to see these deals again! Does one have to buy by the 12-pack to receive the extra 20% discount, or can you mix and match to 12+ glasses? Hoping for the latter… have a few different styles I’d love to check out! Thanks!

Hi Jason cannot mix and match!

I am getting more of the Kane. I have bought a lot of wine glasses from this producer, but I have to say, the Kane is my favorite wine glass for all purpose red wine use, over any other producer. And I’m not just saying that because John is a very close friend. I’m using one right now to celebrate the eve of Berserker Day.

I would also be remiss if I did not make a few comments about John, which actually will connect back to the wine glass. I had the pleasure of meeting John through this website, and then deepening the bonds with him after Todd got us all together for a wine night. I now consider John one of my very good friends. If you’ve ever read any post of his on this website, it’s patently obvious he is highly intelligent, very thoughtful, and very analytical. Over the years, we have pulled a lot of corks, debated, laughed a lot, and even shared legal work. I can tell you unequivocally he is one of the sharpest lawyers that I have ever met, across any discipline. But what’s interesting is that, he is much more than just a lawyer, and a smart guy and a jock. He is also very artistic. He is very well read in the arts, knows his artists of all styles, and to see him actually sketch out this wine glass was wildly fun. He actually shared his sketches with us. A lot of thought went into that design. There’s some analysis involved, but also just some intuitive design skills. He is an artist, after all. And the wine glass fires on all cylinders on all the wines that I enjoy drinking, Bordeaux, Zin, Chinon and Beaujolais. Occasionally, I even use it for Chablis.

Props to my good friend!

Holy smokes. That’s about the kindest thing anyone has ever written about me. Sheesh, thank you. And coming from my #lifementor and such a world class renaissance #owlman and elote athlete and lawyer it’s moving me nearly to tears. But I ain’t no cuck bitch.

Truth actually be told, I’m ecstatic with how the Kane glass turned out. It’s an excellent Universal. Put it to the test against Zalto, GGG. Seriously. Buy a pair and rock em. They will not disappoint. Glasvin has done a murderous job on the production. They’re beautiful and modern in hand, but keep substance at a level consistent with style. And then some.

The 20% discount isn’t working on the martini glass

I applied the 20 and 10% for max discount. Stop laughing @Mike_Cohen

That is one sexy photo on the Carafe box!
Wanted to give a little more context on why this was created. There was a debate a couple of years ago on whether champagne can be, or should be decanted. If you follow @CFu you might have seen his recent post on a 96 Cristal Rose, and how air really improved the wine.

I’m a firm believer that great champagne is just great wine, and like many great wines, a bit of air usually helps it unfurl and express. However what’s on the market had a few issues.

  1. Lots of wide bottom decanters. This makes people weary that they’ll lose a lot of of the carbonation
  2. A lot of times you want to keep a champagne in / on ice, at least periodically to regulate the serving temperature. The wide bottom decanters don’t fit ice buckets
  3. The existing carafes on the market (i.e. the Zalto and Josephine ones) are lovely but they are hard to grip with one hand, especially if you put it in an ice bucket, or if a cold wine throws off some condensation. I’ve had those carafes slip out of my hand before and if not careful could’ve ended badly

So the design of this is really focused on

  • tall / slender shape that fits ice buckets
  • have pinch point in the middle to pour/hold.
  • have a secondary small pinch point near the top to help hold/guide as it slides into the ice bucket / help pull it out of the bucket
  • a shape that doesn’t over expose the wine to air, but gives it the exposure it needs over a meal

I’ve got one on hand for a week now, and I love it. I’ve tried it with a few bubbly / whites, as well as reds.
I think this carafe is BEST for

  • Champagne (i really wanted to call it a Champagne decanter but that might not be commercially wise)
  • White wines that want to regulate temp with an ice bucket nearby
  • Older reds that u want to decant for sediment but not necessarily blast with lots of air.

Of course it works with a young Cecile Tremblay as well
It’s incredibly balanced. It FEELS a lot lighter / more nimble than many other decanters (and i have / use just about all of them). Anyhow, happy to take comments / questions on real world experience!

@davidkong is glasvin not sending replacements any longer? the Kane glasses I ordered on BD arrived broken and the CS rep is stating a new policy of only refunds

Hi Joseph, it should be equivalent? If the 10% off is an issue we can still give you the same discount

Hi David,

Sadly 3/4 of my stems arrived damaged as well. I would certainly rather have the stems than be refunded the discounted fare.

Cheers,

Jeremy

No problem at all

It is, but like Jeremy I’d prefer the stems than the refund. I don’t quite understand why the updated policy is such that the customer is refunded then has to reorder.

That’s fine - Some people want a refund some people want a replacement. It’s not an issue.
