Yes, 2024 is definitely not (!) like 2021.
More acidity than in 2022, but not as sharp or harsh as in 2021. I found the acidity in 2024 well-integrated and harmonious.
A juicy vintage with character, extract, terroir-driven and excellent balance. Fair to say the weather-god lived in Rheinhessen in 2024, no frost.
Some winemakers, german merchands compare 2024 with 2004. But of course the best is to make your own judgement.

Your take is consistent with mine. Harmonious was the most often word in my notes, And damn it if the wines just donât make you smile!

Christine,
Where on the west coast? K&L (for example) usually has a good selection, or Vinopolis in Portland and either should be able to ship.
Thanks,
Zachary
Also Woodland Hills has one of the biggest selections in the country.

I conjecture that it compares quite comparably.

During the previous cool temperatures and rain in Germany, I ordered the following:
2024 Weingut Keller Von der Fels
2024 Keller Limestone Kabinett
and last two bottles of 2018 Keller VdF

MFWâs report is out, I wonder how even the best wines from this vintage are going to age. Is anything going to go 20+ years?
Did you look at the MFW drinking windows?

I did, but I havenât had any kabinetts that I thought would hit the 20 year mark. Granted Spatlese are available, but even those generally sound lighter. My experience with the older rieslings is honestly limited.

Headed to the Mosel/Nahe August 10, 11, 12. Excited for the vintage, described by a handful whom I trust as like 2021 but with riper acidity.
Zentacular.

At long last the Vom Boden report:
Einleitung | introduction Last year I began the vintage report noting the relatively unenthused market, wondering whether it was all âbecause of inflation and wars, or because of our politics and the decline of western culture, or our lack of...

My guess is that most members have a subscription to Mosel Fine Wines. If not, you can subscribe for free.

I have found over the past few years a real fascination for the wines from 2019 and 2021. The 2019s are so rich and unctuous and just wonderful. The 2021s are so precise and minerally and are just wonderful. When have we ever had two vintages so close together that are both wonderful, but are completely different?

I agree completely about those two vintages.

Looking at the charts in the latest Mosel Fine Wines, 2023 doesnât show as high acid at all.
Yes, I agree. And I meant to say forum members who are interested in German Riesling probably have a subscription.

The 2025 vintage will be a bountiful harvest, barring hail or rot.
