Full Pull

I suppose it’s possible, but I think it’s much more likely that it’s the wine reviewed at the link below…

Have only glanced but immediate assumption is that the redacted for today is the 2018 WT vintners seven springs pinot.

Agreed. I bought a few of the '16 and thought they handled the warm vintage pretty well so I’ll likely pick a few of these up as well.

The FP blurb said that the winemaker will no longer be working with this fruit. I wonder if they mean this source or PN in general. I hope it’s not the latter. With as accomplished as Jeff has been in producing more elegant Rhone style wines, especially syrah and grenache, I would think he’d make great Pinot too. Although I don’t recall trying his PN before so I’m in for a few on this.

Yep, I think the odds are pretty strong that this is the correct wine.

Per CT, there are only 5 producers who’ve made 2018 Pinot Noir as Seven Springs vineyard designate. Other than W.T, that includes Evening Land, Evesham Wood, Failla and Walter Scott. I think we can be pretty sure Evening Land is still making wine from Seven Springs fruit, and I don’t remember many (if any) previous FP offers for wines from the other 3 producers. In addition, the last vintage listed in CT for the WT Seven Springs Pinot is 2018.

FP has offered quite a few WT wines, including some previous Redacted. And, as noted above, they’ve previously offered the 2016 vintage of this wine (which was a really good value at $20/per). The WT website shows the 2017 as their current vintage for sale, and it’s at the same $54 list shown in the FP offer.

Haven’t tried the 2018. However, in general, I am a fan of the WT style. Suspect this one will prove to be another good value at the same $20/per.

I got my 4 bottles of Redacted 60, picked up last Thursday, that are indeed MTR.

I know I have flogged Full Pull for years, but would be remiss to not mention that while there Thursday we had a long chat with “Damn Paul” Zitarelli . His kids are now 7 and 5, and had just returned from the Jersey Shore. I’m using a walker to get around, so we described my wreck and recovery of course. While we were tasting the mystery wine, I accurately guessed Bordeaux-Right Bank but missed the vintage, Paul slipped couple of bottles into our boxes as a “get well” gift. A nice champagne and a Barolo. Very kind and generous gesture.

My interactions with Paul over the last decade plus have always been great. Full Pull is one of the best retailers I’ve ever dealt with.

Thanks to all on the Redacted 60 sleuthing, MTR. I took one over to a bbq tonight and it’s a winner. Not as much depth or complexity as I’d like if I’d paid full price but it makes up for this by being so fresh, light and downright easy to drink.

Redacted 63… any ideas?

Two Hawks Darow Series. The winery just changed their name to Padigan and has been closing out the old label. $49.00. Padigan - 2018 Darow Series Tempranillo. FullPull previously sold the Malbec.

I enjoyed the Two Hawks Malbec, so they do a nice job with that being my only experience. I’ll pass on the Tempranillo only because I really don’t love the variety.

Love the variety, but not new world expressions

Well, 1 for 2 on today’s Redacted offer (64 & 65).

Redacted 65 is almost surely this wine:

Nothing definitive yet on #64. Not very many clues, and way too many producers making Merlot from WW. Anyone else have guesses on this one? Walla Walla Vintners, maybe?

Michael

I thought of Walla Walla Vintners or Seven Hills.

FWIW, that Bellone that was just offered was absolutely terrific in previous vintages. Very perfumed and aromatic, just a steal at that price. Cheers.

This will be my 4th vintage of the Giglio Bellone. Agreed, the QPR on this wine is silly good…
