I’ve tried three of these now and I for the life of me can’t find anything wrong with it. It’s definitely tasty Champagne in all the right ways with plenty of toast and PN fruit. Not profound or great, but absolutely true and head an shoulders above bubbly alternatives to Champagne. One of the best low end Champagnes I’ve had.
The FP resupply email yesterday is still offering redacted #34, the Charles Elsner Champagne. I tried several bottles and posted on a few posts back and it’s quite good Champagne for $25. I’m in for more.
Without ever signing up for Full Pull- are all of their offers secret wines that you have to decipher brand or do they also offer named wines for sale?
The vast majority of their offers are with named wines. These redacted offers allow them to sell some wines for less than they might need to with disclosing the wine publicly.
My guesses on very little information other than they’re labels that have previously been offered: aMaurice, Nota Bene, Soos Creek, Basel, or Lauren Ashton. Beyond that, nada.
Redacted #41 was 2016 Brian Carter Solesce. I don’t think I’ve ever had a Brian Carter wine until I popped one last night. Pleasantly surprised - nice structure, not heavy, good intensity with class. Well worth the $25 price.
Decent to good cellar defender though I have not tasted this vintage, I tasted the current line-up last spring and all were solid wines. I don’t remember the Red Wine specifically but bought Cab Sauv, Tinto(Tempranillo), and Syrah, mostly from the same vineyard sources. Their estate vineyard now is Konnowack in Rattlesnake Hills. .
Just made a pick up at Full Pull last night. Feels like the old days and they are pouring the mystery wine again. It was a magnum of 1989 Seven Hills Cabernet. I thought it was WA from the nose, but couldn’t trust myself. There was some green pepper weaved into the fruit, which was nice - wish there was more of this in WA today. I guessed BDX because I couldn’t believe a WA wine that old would still have some structure and tannins. Really a nice treat to be able to taste this. Thanks to Paul and the Full Pull crew!
Do you know the vineyard(s) for the '89 Seven Hills? I have enjoyed several 30+ year Washington Cab’s or blends. Most have been really good without much sign of end of life.
