Friends of Cam: Austrian Gruner Offering $14-$20

Dearest Berserkers,

I recently launched our Friends of Cam program sourcing wines from around the globe for our email list. First time we’ve sold wines other than under our own label. Today’s offer of three Austrian Gruner Veltliners can be found here: https://chwine.com/wines/featured-wines/friends-of-cam/ …couple hundred cases up for grabs total.

*Please Note: All orders containing Grüner wines will ship Monday, May 16th. $10 flat rate shipping continental US (where legal) on any 12 bottles, free shipping on any two case or better order. You may mix and match any wine from our store, including our Lot program wines, for aforementioned discounted shipping. Otherwise, standard FedEx rates apply.

Landhaus Mayer, Lower Austria appellation, $14
This winery, formed by the region’s quality-focused growers looking to elevate their game, has produced an incredible value here. In fact, we’re told this is the #1 by-the-glass Grüner pour in Vienna. Uplifted, spicy nose of citrus blossom, lemon oil, quince and rock. Broad shouldered on the palate, with lemon oil and citrus florals in nice tension with chalky acidity in long, resounding finish. Fantastic everyday drinker and did I mention this wine is an incredible value?

Brandl “Weinberge” (Wine Hills), Kamptal region, $18
This small, family run enterprise delivers a scintillating wine. The decomposed limestone slopes of the Kamptal deliver high-toned aromas of chalk, pink grapefruit, white pepper and citrus blossom that are complex and ever shifting. Beautifully bright entry on the palate is lifted and gorgeous with delicately nuanced grapefruit-candy-coated mineral finish of fantastic length.

Lagler “Burgberg”, Wachau region, $20
The Lagler family has a few small, steep and barren vineyards in the Wachau, and their Burgberg vineyard Grüner is one of the most interesting white wines I’ve had in years. This “rockborn” wine is pure dynamite, with an intense bouquet of white pepper, lemon curd, and orange oil inflected with chiseled quartz. White pepper and granite explode on the palate and up through your sinuses like an invading army. Amazing acid structure carries lemon candy and rock in a long, quartz inflected finish.

As a reminder, you’re welcome to mix and match this wine with anything else from our web store in order to qualify for discounted shipping, but the wines in the Friends of Cam program are aggressively priced and are not eligible for additional discounts. As always, if you have any questions or need assistance with your order, please don’t hesitate to email info@chwine.com or call 800-805-1971.

Cheers!
