2011 Gérard Boulay Sancerre La Comtesse Monts Damnés - France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre (3/28/2014)
According to my last TN, I haven’t had a bottle of this in 8 months.
Light yellow-gold in the glass; the nose still has that Chablis-like brininess I noted last time - nice nose.
Very easy going down - I’m even more convinced than last time that this wine will not be one to hold, but it remains a nice bottle of white in the near term. Vibrant acidity really frames the fruit here.

Another wine I haven’t tasted in 8+ months, and similar in color to the Mont Damnes. The nose is more buttoned-down here, but hinting at a lot in reserve as well. I’m pairing this with some jumbo lump crab cakes for dinner, so we’ll see if the wine unwinds over the next few hours.
Very nice presence on the palate, more concentrated and focused than the Mont Damnes. Quite tasty, and maybe a wine with some additional potential for beneficial development.
