Wow that’s some lineup. The way you guys go at almost makes me want to move to Dallas…almost.
Great notes from what sounds like a great tasting/party. Love the maybach. I like some bell pepper in my cabs as long as it doesn’t dominate. Also not a big fan of that vintage of silver oak. Underfruited and overoaked is a good description.
Nice job.
Gaja was a "95 and was excellent.
Wish I could have had more than a couple from the last group of post cab wines. I think the Rayas will be something special in a few years. QC is way over blown and over rated.
You suck.
Great notes. And I LOVE that the '05 Maybach showed so well.
Wow, sounds like an awesome night. I’m a little surprised that the CSJ stood out among some of those wines. I think I will have to open my last bottle of that one. Out of curiosity which vineyard was the Lokoya?
Sheesh. Sweet lineup. The trends really do prove that Maybach can hold its own in most any class. Can’t wait for those 07’s!!!
Lokoya Rutherford.
Indeed.
what was the release price on the 97 csj; less than $50 right?
Maybe a tad more since the '96 was WS WOTY. I know open market was considerably more than release and closer to $100 a bottle in these parts.
How much life did the 79 Mouton seem to have left in it? I’ve considered buying these a couple times as a birthyear wine but never pulled the trigger.
Awesome lineup. We had the 05 Maybach last time Bill was down here, and it was a showstopper in a pretty strong lineup, too.
Great on that 1990 Mount Eden … those wines are superb. Had a 1986 a couple years ago that blew me away.
