Friday Dinner @ Andiamo

Last night after tasting eight Cline wines at Susan’s Fine Wines and Spirits, we stopped at Andiamo for dinner. We arrived about five minutes before opening, so we waited a few minutes and went in. We were seated at our favorite table and got our San Pellegrino. The we ordered a bottle of 2007 Prunotto Dolcetto d’Alba and a Caesar Salad to share. The Dolcetto was rich, bright cherry fruit with good acidity, and a long fruity finish, The salad was a traditional Caesar - hearts of Romaine and a good garlicky lemon dressing with a good amount of anchovy; a nice starter. Then we ordered a small pepperoni pizza to share. The pizza was good as usual and very nice with the end of the dolcetto. Then we ordered a 2005 Avignonesi Vino Nobile and our mains of spaghetti aglio e olio with shrimp for Carollee and the daily special of a veal chop with mixed vegetables for me. The vegetables with my veal chop were sautéed red peppers, spinach, asparagus, and zucchini, very nice. All was very good with the nice Vino Nobile, When we were done we completed the meal with a couple short espressos and headed home.
