Shipped couple of cases from iDeal France (trying to beat the tarrifs), but my shipement has been stuck at De Gaulle for over a week now with no updates. iDeal said there appears to be some delay with customs, but for a week? Is this normal?
It takes awhile to drink that much wine.
why would it be hung up with France customs? one would think its actually a destination country customs matter not an exporting country customs authority concern
Exactly. French customs shouldn’t be involved in exports.
Delays at CDG are not uncommon and can be ridiculously long. I think it relates to making sure that all of the copious French bureaucracy protocols are satisfied or maybe there’s another strike.
Probably this
Either the flights are full, very likely, or issue with documents, a good possibility.
Not normal. I just (maybe 3 weeks ago) had wine shipped from Paris to LA via FedEx in about 2 days.
I thought this was going to be a discussion on French customs:

That’s another one of the French customs.
I once had a pallet of wine shipped via air and it was stuck at CDG for almost 2 weeks. It was all handled by DHL, and they never told me exactly what happened… but it had to do with some internal paperwork.
It also happend to me with some documents a French producer sent me for a shipment via sea freight… suffice to say that CDG held on to it for 3 months. Cargo arrived before documents sent via air. No explanation given either.
Randomness is another French custom.
