Saw an ad for his latest film recently. He’s REALLY trying to push his line of wines.

Great cross marketing - if you got it . . . and can afford to market like this, why not take advantage of it?!?!? Nothing like using your name to get people to try your wines . . .
Seems tacky to me. It’s one thing to unabashedly cross market your wine in a movie scene. But this just smacks of heavy-handed poor taste - and it’s not even the good stuff! [nea.gif]
I think the term that fits is “cheese ball”
Really bad marketing. He should have pimped Sofia, which is much easier to sneak into a theater
For wine geeks, yes. For the average supermaket wine customer, this is very good branding by association. I’d be willing to bet that this will do good things for Coppola’s sales.
As far as quality, its been a long time since I’ve had any of the Coppola Diamond Series stuff, but I remember the claret being a decent drinker. Like all things, that may have changed over the last five years.
I actually think Gallo paid for this film’s production…
Hey, you should be aware of the fact that Sofia is the best, canned sparkling wine made in Lawrenceburg, Indiana!

Think the wine should still be called “Inglenook” . . .
Vincent
or Ernest & Julio?
