Fountainhead Cellars?

Can anyone tell me anything about Fountainhead Cellars, in Napa? I see they make a cab from Morisoli fruit but, other than that, I can’t find much info on them. Not many CT notes or mentions here, and their website appears to be missing. I’d love to hear anything about the style of the wine, winemaking, etc.

Back in my retail days we sold the 05. It was rich & creamy – we sold a ton of it. I haven’t seen it around lately, but I don’t think production is very high. I’ll reach out to Sam, see if he’ll update in here.

I tasted the 2007 and 2008 at last year’s MacArthurs barrel tasting. The 2007 was a good but the 2008 tasted off. They were listed on the MacArthur’s web site as participating in this years event but were not there (and not listed on the program). I didn’t ask Andy as to what happened. That is the extent of my knowledge but it does leave me wondering if there are issues with the winery.

Thanks. I just picked up two bottles of the '05 at auction, mainly on the basis of the vineyard source. Paid $32, which seemed very reasonable for a whim.
