For those living in Wine Country - What % of your cellar is from the region you live in?

According to CT, 57% of my little cellar is from CA, 35% from the Central Coast alone. France is 25%, and then there’s another big dropoff to Italy and Germany…but I’m working on that.

.1 % Washington.
2 bottles total, although 1 is a Copain Cailloux & Coccinelle so Cali winery, and actually Oregon grapes.

If you want to expand to the PacNW, i’m 17% from Oregon WV, about the same as Burgundy.

0.52% of my cellar is from Ohio wineries. Only about 1/3 of those are from the Lake Erie region where I live.

Almost none (5-10%), but that’s because I don’t collect Cab based wines from anywhere or Syrah all that much. I’ve no Oregon Pinot since I get that grape from Burgundy.

Easily 95% of the wine that I buy and drink is German and a lot of that comes from the Pfalz. The remaining percentage is generally from France, Austria or the Südtirol of Italy.

I would buy Pinot Noir from OR, Calera, or the the Santa Cruz mtns if I could find any.

Cheers,
Bill

Yep!

Of course last time at this year I was living in wine purgatory, Fargo!

What? If it’s anything like the North Dakota wine you are missing out. Who wouldn’t want some Apple Jalapeno wine?

In all seriousness, I’ve heard the local Crab Apple wine is decent.

I am about 25% Napa, 75% French, with almost all the French being 2000 Bordeaux.

2 1/2 cases are not from Burgundy. Wish I knew percentages, but I haven’t run inventory since I started. Fwiw, I call these my wife’s wines as I have no intention of drinking them

I’ve been branching out and trying a lot of other things, but I still have about 40% Oregon and maybe another 10% Washington. As much as I’ve been enjoying tasting new things, I don’t see those percentages changing much any time soon.

These numbers surprised me.

We have distribution in Germany. I believe J. Christopher does as well as his partner is Loosen.

take away the house wines, and Anderson Valley is in the lead with a whopping 20%…

maybe your heart is living in France flirtysmile

0% of my wines are from Texas. For my palate, most of the stuff around here is terrible. I keep saying I will venture out and try more Texas wines (there are quite a few out there), but so far I have been nothing short of disappointed in everything I’ve put on my tongue.

I have less than 1% Santa Cruz Mountains, though that should creep up now that I’m buying a little Rhys. However about 1/3 of my wine is from CA. Almost everything else is French.

I live in Austin, Texas. About 8% of my cellar is Texas wines- all pre-2000 Cabernets from some guys who really knew what they were doing. I won’t defend our overall track record, but if you really, really know where to look- there are some good ageworthy wines here (or at least in years past such things were made) that have a terroir unique to Texas.

Craig, Time to step it up; Ridge, Rhys, Mount Eden, Windy Oaks, Stefania, Alfaro, etc. For my palate some of the best wine in the county and world is being made here. And amazingly diverse; world class Pinot, Chardonnay, BDX blends, Syrah, and Zin.

I have yet to be impressed by Mt. Eden, and I’ve tried quite a few times. I’ll look up some of the others, but in general I’m becoming more and more Eurotrash.
