Try to order one at a time, so y’all don’t crash the site:
We had a brief discussion about it before:
I was given a “stealth” a couple of years ago. It’s an extremely tractile and effective piece of engineering. It’s also heavy enough to help chip off hard wax. Worth the price no, but a delight to use
Laquiole (real) are in that range and nobody dumps on them. I own a very nice Laquiole and a few fakes. The real one is quite awesome. I like the looks of this Code 38 but have no need to actually own one.
Cheerios!
Laguiole in Ivory !
Are the fakes the ones spelled incorrectly or are those the authentic ones?
Is my Laguiole a fake or simply a base model since I did not overpay for it. Works great, heavy duty, sleek, single pull…
The word laguiole is a generic term, not legally restricted to any one company or place of manufacture. Such knives are produced by a number of unrelated companies in southern France, with some 70% of production coming from Thiers, a long-established centre of the cutlery industry.
I prefer Laguiole en Aubrac.
Laguiole en Aubrac Mammoth Fossil Ivory (fossil over 10,00 years old from Siberia), High Polish Stainless Steel. Each Laguiole en Aubrac corkscrew is assembled entirely by hand and signature marked by the same master craftsman. Each Laguiole en Aubrac is made in the Laguiole area of France, in the pure Laguiole tradition. Finely serrated blade and bottle opener combination. Cone-shaped filet worm gradually tapers from 3.8 mm down to a fine point at the tip for a truly positive grip of the cork. Smoothly arched boot lever rests lightly on the bottle rim. 4-3/4 long. Each Laguiole en Aubrac comes in a mahogany finished wood box.
I expected this thread to be about 2013 Maison Ilan futures.
Laguiole en Aubrac with Ebony and brushed stainless for me. A lifetime guarantee and feels solid as a rock after ten years - $100 purchased in St Emilion. Also for older wines the Durand, but i finally had a 55 Quinta du Noval cork break with the Durand - first one.
I like the ones with a hinged flange and two-stage shelves for removing the cork…
Woo Hoo for me! I like something that’s cheap!
