Florence recommendations

I have looked thru multiple Florence threads and haven’t found a recommendation for a specific tour company. Specifically for private tours of the Accademia Gallery. I have one pre-booked, but curious of any recommendations.

Seeing these posts about Enoteca and Osteria make me sick. They will be closed for summer holiday while I am in Florence. Re-open the day I leave.

When we were in Florence and Rome with the kids a few years ago in early August, it was a real challenge finding places to eat. But in another way it was sort of liberating to not worry so much about getting to particular restaurants, and just went with the flow, and prepared our own meals more than we would have otherwise.

This enoteca mentioned in an older section of the thread. Have never been but might be a good option since Pitti is closed for holiday .

Wife and I are in Florence now. I’m cracking up after not being able to get to the Enoteca recommendation because a Cinque Terre tour went way over. We stumbled on La Bussola and “had” to sit at bar by pizza oven because we had no reservation. I had the special pizza close to the referenced in the earlier post…salami, cheese, tomatoes. Can’t think of a better pizza. I did go for a Chianti Riserva from 2016 that was pretty stellar so checked the wine box for the night.

There’s always today Luke ! Can’t leave without a stop at Pitti.

We really like La Bussola. Found it from this thread and usually will do lunch there. Solid food and really nice wine list. Nice family runs the place. Always an enjoyable visit.

The follks at Pitti Gola are expanding again. They are opening a new Osteria. Oltranso Osteria coming soon. Website says open in September but can’t tell from the website or google page. It’s right near Piazza Michelangelo.
