Flannery Fest II final thoughts

I want to add our thanks to Bill, Phillip, Bryan, the kitchen crew, the bar tenders, and everyone else ! It was a great night and so much fun to meet so many new folks - and see a few old friends, too.

Cris, thanks for posting the list. Amazing to see how many wines we didn’t try ! One correction … the Mount Eden was a 3 liter.

Scott & Christie

I really can’t add much more but I’m just blown away by the great people we met over the weekend. The wines were off the hook and the food was outrageous. Thanks to the kitchen/grill and bar crew and Phil for hosting such a great event. See you at FFIII.

FFIII??

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time, thank you so much guys! Philip, amazing of you to offer your house up for us like that. Bill, thanks so much for putting so much work into the event, before and during (and I imagine after). Manlin for slicing like a madman and taking care of my girlfriend who isn’t a meataholic. [drinks.gif]

Funniest part of the night for me was talking to a really nice Californian guy who was telling us how he thought we were great and wanted to cater our wedding. We asked, are you in catering? I didn’t find out till I looked at pictures that it was Bryan!

@Cris Produttori

@Mark No problem! [bye2.gif]

What a great event.

First and foremost, thanks to Philip for allowing us to host the gig at his crib. I have no idea on the final head count, but I would guess over 100 easily. I am very fortunate enough to have a good friend like him.

Second, a BIG shout out to Manlin for taking over the inside kitchen and doing prep work on the critters and slicing it up when it came in. Without him, the show would not have been on.

Third, thanks to everyone who brought such great wine for the evening.

Fourth, thanks to WetRock, Michel, Zach and Liotta for running the bar and making sure everyone was taken care of.

Philip, to you and Bill and Scott… [notworthy.gif] [notworthy.gif] [notworthy.gif] [notworthy.gif] [notworthy.gif] [notworthy.gif] [notworthy.gif] [notworthy.gif]

It was great meeting many of you, and finally putting a face to the names and avatars. Saxon didn’t look like a trouble maker at all in person.

Phil, you are a brave man for allowing that many loonie’s in your crib (and what a crib it is!) Props to all you “meat” handlers and bottle openers…definite First Class service all around.

All I can say is the Berzerker’s are a great bunch, and I look forward to doing this again (but not for another year please!) I had to book an extra plane ticket for my liver.

Thanks again everyone!

Someone told me later on you were there. Sorry I missed you. Next time! [berserker.gif]

Updated list with corrections.

To reinterate the thoughts above, it was great being able to put some names with faces, get to know new friends, get great meat nad great wine!

Phil - thanks for offering up the house! And a very fine house at that!

Bill - thanks for putting the affair together. I got home that night and showed my wife the pictures, she was really kicking herself for missing it.

Scott - Thanks for all your efforts in the kitchen. It was quite an undertaking.

Everyone else - thanks for everyone’s help.

Great to finally meet Linda, Chris, Steve, Sara and T- Bone. Hope to see everyone again soon!

Me too, me too! pretty please!!!

My fault I’m sure. I tend to gravitate toward the fringe areas. Next time for sure.

I got to meet Denny only b/c I was out front of the house getting some air with Leo…15 mins of Air and Back in to the fray!

Thanks for the warning, Steve!

Seriously, Leo’s great! He makes any wine party that much more fun.

Is he coming up from the city in June?

Absolutely! Steve will be in Vermont, I will be home near Albany, so we were thinking of meeting somewhere in between, perhaps Glens Falls or Saratoga. We could also try the Berkshires if there’s a Boston contingent.

I was talking to Steve about it…We have a house at Mt. Snow, so should be no problem at all.

A few observations:
Bill is exactly what you would expect from his posts. Great guy, fun, easy going.

Philip is a gracious host, talking to everyone, greeting them by name, taking the time to make sure they were welcome. Gave me a quick house tour (cool house). Quite a feat with 100+ and his daughter throwing her own party upstairs.

Rebecca is a graceful, lovely person to meet. Spent some wonderful time getting to talk with her.

Zach really is that short. The live feed should have helped. Always a smile on his face, a jolly fellow.

T-bone is clean cut with a big smile. Nothing like his Avatar. Amazing what some soap and water can do. [rofl.gif]

Linda is incredibly nice, a bit more subdued than she is on the boards.

Saxon, while I knew he was a nice guy, is an incredibly nice guy. You feel like friends the minute he shakes your hand.

Leo is an experience. Hugs all around, the thick accent always recognizable in any conversation. As if he needs it as what comes out of his mouth can only be described as “classic Leo”. He is “the straw that stirs the drink” for the after-pool party at the LaQ [dance2.gif]

Cris is incredibly nice, and with big hair. [1974_eating_popcorn.gif] Atlhough I heard he was hiding bottles under the bar… [berserker.gif]

Major Franks, incredible guy.

Manlin didn’t look like I expected. Too much time looking at that Avatar I suppose??? Incredibly generous with all his kitchen duties.

Bryan is not what I expected either. Incredibly thin for a man who can eat his stuff 3 meals a day [rofl.gif] , plus dessert of course. Spent maybe an hour talking to him and it was time well spent.

I’m sure others will come to me as I continue to put faces/names together. (remembering names is not my strong suit. The posted photos will help once I get home to ABQ late tonight)

Everyone I met was a pleasure, and would be welcome at my house anytime.

OH BOY…This is going to be great!

Great avatar Zach. [rofl.gif] [rofl.gif]

As soon as you know the exact dates, let me know and I will start a thread in Offline Planner.

Thanks so much for the kind words Jeff, I really enjoyed meeting you and look foward to seeing you at future events.
