If you’re looking at a sparkling heavy set of visits, I would recommend these:
Argyle-biggest, longest running, most experienced. The upper tier wines are usually exceptional. The size of production can make these wines more of a big house experience, but Tattinger and Bollinger still make some great wines and Argyle is definitely worth the time. The ET and Knudsen Vineyard Blanc de Blancs are exceptional.
Lundeen Wines-Michael Lundeen has been focusing on sparkling for over a decade now. Additionally his still Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay are also very good. He’s producing a very well rounded set of wines that works in a more complex process, and his experience shows (IMO). We did a BdB tasting at his place last night, and I tasted two of his wines. One, a Blanc de Gris, was an excellent lighter bodied wine. My TN:
Lundeen Blanc de Gris-floral, pretty, clean lines, tranquil water, good depth, transportive, rose tones. Round, slightly richer texture, mild lees impact, good mineral finish, excellent balance.
While I love the richer pastry dough/lees inflections of the Chardonnay based wines, this was lovely. And like I would not want all the same record in my album collection this was an excellent variant from the norm.
His 2018 Brut was also very nice, he goes to bottle quickly keeping the freshness of fruit, then is on lees in bottle for 3-4 years typically. Again, not heavily autolytic but really delicious fruit, bright, cheerful, floral tones, raspberry essence, eminently drinkable, very nice mousse.
He also has some extended bottle aged Blanc de Blanc from Bunker Hill that has been exceptional. He’s getting ready to disgorge a small amount of the 2012 with 10 years in bottle next month IIRC, so you should definitely ask about that. It’s literally 20 cases.
Granville: only one sparkling wine but the 2018 BdN is delicious. I like all of Jackson’s other wines that I have tasted though, so worthwhile as a stop (IMO)
Mellen-Meyer-Bobby Rowett has also been making specifically sparkling for 10 years and has an excellent line up of wines. Arguably my favorite sparkling Riesling, but also an excellent Blanc de Noir(from Whistling Ridge North) and Blanc de Blanc from Johan vineyard. The TN for the 2016 yesterday: Biscuity, woodsy, richer style, great yeasty note, shows slightly bigger, wood fermentation(99% sure), phenolics in back, not intrusive nicely contrasting the richness of the palate. Mousse disipates a little quickly, but still delicious.
I don’t have any real experience with Corollary, but they do focus on sparkling. Also Arabilis, Kenny McMahon’s project is 95% sparkling. He posts pretty regularly so hopefully he can comment more on this.
Beyond that, quite a few wineries make a sparkling and the results vary from winery to winery.
I’m happy to open up an undisgorged bottle or two, when you visit as well.
