First coravined wines from a vendor today...

A vendor handed me a sample bottle of a Taurasi this morning and my immediate reaction was “You didn’t notice the short fill?” as it was about mid shoulder. He replied that he had drawn two pours for other accounts from it with the coravin.

If this thing actually works, sampling semi expensive stuff like this is probably a good use.

I have tasted about 30 bottles from one of my reps that have been Coravined. Seems to work pretty well.

Copain is now using it for their library tastings.

I have had several importers/winemakers/distributors present their wines via Coravin. It can be a little clunky when you need to taste 4-5 people on 6-8 different wines but the upside (from their perspective) is too significant to ignore. Having worked as a rep for a high-end portfolio, I can foresee that the Coravin will be welcomed with open arms by wholesalers.

Yep, our rep is using that in NYC now.

I’ll check that out.

Indeed, our Florida reps use one too.

Mike Smith is using one for some of the more expensive wines during tastings. Seems like a good idea to me.

Saw one at the Partisan in DC last week. Bar program is solid however so I’ve yet to drink any wine there.
