Not surprising, I guess. Perhaps the producer of SC can enter their wine in one of these contests and see if they can win a gold medal.

File under “ho-hum”.
Wine judgings/contest have NEVER been anything but beauty contests. The fact that there’s anyone out there that still doubts that simply means that there are still people who just haven’t been paying attention, or they’re just willfully gullible, thassall.
The most amusing line in that whole wasted space article was the defensive guy who said they were providing valuable “factual” information to consumers.
And I speak as one of those wine judges, by the way; I’ve done several competitions over the years.
