Has anyone here been to both the Grand Tasting and the Apéro at La Fête du Champagne NYC? How different is the atmosphere between the two?
I did the Grand Tasting two years ago and really enjoyed being able to taste such a huge range of great Champagne, but looking back, it was also a bit of a whirlwind. Lots of tables, tiny pours, taste something, move on, repeat.
This year I can unfortunately only make the Friday Apéro. The number of wines, and probably the overall level of the lineup, is obviously lower than at the Grand Tasting, but I’m wondering if the actual experience might be better or more fun. More relaxed, more social, maybe a bit more time to actually enjoy what’s in the glass?
Curious to hear from anyone who has done both. Which format did you prefer, and why?
