Am putting this question here rather than Wine Talk because this question is directed more at Foodies
Does anyone out there drink Fernet? I hear it’s big with Foodies, and also popular in SF restaurants. Just wondering!

Used to when younger. Basically an after-dinner digestif that would burn up all the food one had just consumed a few minutes earlier. Basically burns a hole in the stomach. Prefer Amaro…normally Averna.
I do. Steve think it smells like a urinal cake, but it really settles my stomach after a big meal.
I’ve tried it on a couple of occasions, and find it somewhat appealing. Then again, I like a palette of bitter, herbal flavors that I think most would find offputting, so YMMV. For a digestif, I prefer a well-made, varietally-expressive grappa, a few of which I’m sure you’d know where to get. ![]()
HUUUUUGE in Argentina where they make several domestic brands and drink it mixed with cola.

I love the stuff. For me, there is nothing better at the end of a hard day. One shot usually does the trick for me.
I love Fernet. A big drinker of it. I like it with diet coke…
I think San Francisco is the biggest per capita consumer of it in the world outside of argentina.
