I’ve had ribbon ridge, sineann, brick house, arborbrook, evesham wood, raptor ridge, Broadley, wine by joe, Beaux Freres, St Innocent, adelsheim, roco, cameron, Brooks, A to Z, Bethel Heights, Ken Wright, Ponzi.
I’d say my favorite so far has been Sineann. Your Faves?? ![]()
Two bottles of Belle Pente Murto? ![]()
Currently, Ayres. There is/was a deal on Ayres in the Commerce Corner.
J. Thomas
Shea
Broadley
Lemelson
Antica Terra
I would never pay over $65 for an Oregon Pinot so long as so many great options exist under that price point.
A hearty second for Belle Pente. They sure do fly under the radar. Like the chards too.
Ayres 2008 is great… sub $30 too
Antica Terra yum
Belle Pente is certainly good too
Anyone try any Scott Paul 2008?
Yeah, I almost never pay that much for an Oregon Pinot.
You may want to start sub $25, sub $35, sub $45 threads.
Above fifty? I’d second the Thomas. I’m not on the list (yet) so tend to pay a bit more in the aftermarket. Or maybe the DDO Laurene? Still commonly available well below $65.
Yup, most of the oregon pinot that i’ve had has been in the $35 and under range
Antica Terra.
Raptor Ridge, Antica Terra and some of the Penner Ash wines.
Bang for the buck every day drinker: Owen Roe Sharecroppers P/N
I own some OR Pinot and never paid > $65 for any of them.

You have good taste, sir! $65 is a pretty high price point. The 07’s from Ken Wright are great, for less than that. I don’t think Cristom is priced that high - you should try them. Bergstrom Cumberland Reserve isn’t that much. (I still don’t get the love for Belle Pente. It’s like some creepy cult. Though their PG is a good value.) Try some of the things Jay McDonald puts out on his EIEIO label.
At that price point I would definitely say:
Domaine Serene Evensted Reserve
Archery Summit Red Hills Estate
Both excellent wines at good prices.
Red Hills Estate isn’t. You thinking Premier Cuvee?
Sub $65?? Can you think of a single one that is worth that? I like a number, but geeeeez.
I have to wonder how many are OVER $65.00 - I don’t shop for OR Pinot all that much, but I’d imagine that 90% of them are under $65
Todd, before the downturn it seemed like everyone was making (or aspiring to make) something in the $75 - $100+ range. Archery Summit, Beaux Freres, DDO, Dusky Goose, Evening Lands, Patty Green, Penner-Ash and the list goes on. The quantities were pretty tiny and I’m sure there’re still $$ aspirations, but I wouldn’t expect too many new $65+ OR Pinots in this market. Not being ITB, my pure speculation is that 90%+ (either by volume or number of labels) of Pinots from Cali and even Burgundy are < $65 retail.

Not sure why folks are getting hung up about the $65. I tend to see a price break at about $38 and again $55 so adding in a fudge factor to account for local pricing differences, I threw out $65.
I get the feeling that some folks in the thread have the idea “I would never pay $65 for an OR pinot”. If you are one of these folks, I’d be interesting in hearing if you would say the same if the question was directed at CA pinot.
I’ve paid some crazy prices for Oregon PN - though I try not to anymore. (But I still get Beaux Freres.) Wouldn’t pay more than $35 for a California PN (except maybe from the Anderson Valley). ![barf [barf.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/8/8943c0ebb2703c20afa757f7ca84a099bb9de70d.gif)
